Outlier secures $10m in Series A funding round
Raise led by Discerning Capital will allow analytics platform to move into new markets, expand team, and develop products
Outlier has secured $10m in a Series A funding round led by Discerning Capital, with the business planning to use the funds to “power the future of sports betting analytics.”
The raise comes shortly after Discerning Capital and PVX Partners’ House Advantage Fund provided the company with a $5m user acquisition credit facility.
Outlier said the Series A capital injection would allow it to bring new products to market, improve UX, and build out teams across multiple divisions.
Management added that international expansion and continued investment in the US, UK, and Australia was also on the cards.
Outlier already has “tens of thousands of paying subscribers,” with the platform providing access to “real-time data, historical performance trends, and odds from major sportsbooks.”
As part of the investment, Discerning Capital managing partner Davis Catlin will join Outlier’s board of directors.
Luis Lafer-Sousa, Outlier co-founder and chief technology officer, said: “Our focus has always been delivering tools that let customers make more sophisticated, data-backed decisions in their betting journeys.
“With this raise, we’re advancing the underlying models, real-time analytics, and predictive systems that power our platform, while expanding the breadth of our product line to meet new demands in a rapidly evolving space.
“We’ve been customer-focused from day one, and we’re doubling down on building technology that meaningfully improves the way our users understand and act on sports and market data.”
Catlin added: “We are excited to partner with Outlier as they continue redefining how bettors use data.
“Outlier has built one of the most compelling products in sports betting, and we believe their focus on transparency, experience, and user value will set the standard for the next decade.
“Any bettor who evaluates Outlier alongside their existing tools will understand the difference immediately.”
Discerning Capital has previously invested in UK-facing challenger operator Midnite and London-based fintech Yaspa.
