NHL names Kalshi and Polymarket as official prediction market partners
Duo to gain access to NHL data and logos for use on platforms, while also being afforded advertising opportunities during hockey broadcasts
The National Hockey League (NHL) has signed multi-year partnerships with Kalshi and Polymarket to allow the pair to become official prediction market partners of the NHL.
The deal will allow the two businesses to access official NHL data and be afforded the rights to use NHL marks, logos, and official designations on their platforms.
Brokers and merchants of Kalshi and Polymarket, such as Robinhood, will also be able to use NHL branding to identify the Kalshi and Polymarket products they offer.
Kalshi and Polymarket will also benefit from advertising during NHL broadcasts via digitally enhanced dasherboards (DEDs) and blue line slot virtual signage.
The broadcast package includes regular season games, the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the NHL Winter Classic, and the NHL Stadium Series.
The NHL has similar deals in place with DraftKings, FanDuel, and BetMGM as sports betting partners.
Kalshi currently offers moneylines and futures for hockey, although there are no prop markets on the platform.
A little under $1m has been traded on the Stanley Cup winner with Kalshi at the time of writing.

Polymarket offers moneylines, puck lines, game totals, and futures on its international platform.
The move marks the first time a major US sports league has partnered with prediction markets, following the verticals rapid ascent since December 2024 with the rollout of sports event contracts.
Kalshi recently raised $300m and expanded its platform into more than 140 countries, while Polymarket is set to return to the US following a $2bn investment from New York Stock Exchange owner, ICE.
However, Kalshi, Robinhood, and Crypto.com remain embroiled in state-level legal battles over whether sports event contracts constitute a form of unregulated sports betting.
Keith Wachtel, NHL Business president, said Kalshi and Polymarket were “ideal partners” to grow and expand with.
He remarked: “As prediction markets continue to evolve at a rapid pace, partnering with the two market leaders – Kalshi and Polymarket – provides a tremendous opportunity for the broadest fan engagement during the NHL season.”
Shayne Coplan, Polymarket CEO, said: “Together, we’re making the game more interactive and connected, and we appreciate the support of the NHL in recognizing the future of fan experiences benefits from engagement with prediction markets.”
Tarek Mansour, Kalshi CEO, added: “Teaming up with the NHL is an important milestone for Kalshi and the industry at large.
“To have a league like the NHL embrace Kalshi is a testament to the integrity, safety, and trust with consumers that Kalshi has spent years building during our time pioneering this asset class. It should be clear now – prediction markets are here to stay.”
