New Jersey sportsbooks bounce back in July with nearly $100m in GGR
Garden State operators see 30% YOY increase in revenue after rough month of June
New Jersey sportsbooks put a rough start to the summer firmly in the rearview, with operators reporting $97m in July gross revenue according to new data from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement (NJDGE).
The nearly $100m in gross gaming revenue (GGR) represented a 29.7% year-over-year (YOY) increase and, more importantly, a resurgence from a historically poor June — when the Knicks’ title run and a strong start to the World Cup for the US resulted in one of the worst months in Garden State history.
July handle amounted to $816.9m, up 23% YOY from $664m during the same period of 2025.
Statewide hold checked in at a strong 11.9%, a stark contrast from the 6.2% win rate in June. That gave way to just under $20m in tax payments back to the state from operators.
Mobile wagers accounted for 97.6% of all revenue for the month.
It was accordingly a bounce-back month for operators as well. FanDuel led the way with $32.8m in GGR, good for nearly 35% of the online market as it saw revenue climb 22% YOY.
DraftKings amassed $25.7m in gross revenue, translating to a 27% market share, while Fanatics snagged the final podium spot with $10.6m in GGR, up 33% YOY.
BetMGM ($8.8m) and bet365 ($7.7m) weren’t far behind in the fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
Turning to New Jersey’s igaming market, operators reported $276.9m in July gross revenue, up 12% YOY from $247.3m during the same period of 2025.
FanDuel topped the market with $61.7m in gross revenue, followed by DraftKings ($48.1m) and BetMGM ($34.6m).
Year-to-date igaming revenue is tracking 14.5% ahead of last year’s pace at $1.87bn.
