IC360 launches reporting platform for sports betting abuse
The tool, which was developed with RealResponse, aims to reduce gambling-related abuse directed towards college players and coaches amid increasingly concerning rate of cases
Integrity Compliance 360 (IC360) has launched the Alert360 platform, which promises to serve as an anonymous reporting system for athletes suffering sports betting-related abuse.
Developed in partnership with RealResponse, the tool boasts a channel mix of QR codes, web forms, text messaging, and email for all users to submit reports without fear of retaliation.
Identities remain protected during the reporting process as well as follow-up discussions, while IC360 ensures that the only people notified of a complaint will be those relevant to investigations.
IC360 CEO Matthew Holt has stressed that the technology and compliance consultancy firm’s latest offering benefits both athletes and operators as the group aims to stamp out threats entirely.
“The implementation of Alert360, powered by RealResponse, is another example of how we help our partners to stay one step ahead,” Holt explained.
“An anonymous tip can help limit and prevent acts or threats of physical and emotional harm or intimidation while thwarting attempts to undermine the integrity of sports competitions.”
Alert360 also ensures that operators can now rebrand the platform as their own, while outsourcing portal management to IC360’s trained professionals.
This is not the first time IC360 has partnered with RealResponse, the anonymous feedback platform for athletes, coaches, and support staff. In May 2023, the two firms produced ‘Athlete Alert Powered by RealResponse’, a national tip line that allows the public to anonymously report gambling-related issues.
Three months later, in August last year, the pair joined forces again to launch a fully integrated free service dedicated solely to intercollegiate athletics and RealResponse college sports customers, designed to ensure student-athletes remain fully protected from illegal gambling-related activity.
David Chadwick, RealResponse founder and CEO, made clear that the protection of student-athletes is at the forefront of the firm’s focus.
“It’s critical to offer new and innovative ways for people to share concerns without the fear of reprisal. The rise of legalized sports betting has led to both expected and unexpected challenges.
“We simply cannot take chances when it comes to integrity, protecting our athletes, and ensuring competition remains free from manipulation or outside influence.”
The launch of Alert360 comes amid a rise in abuse for both professional and student-athletes from bettors.
