Fanatics launches online sports betting following trial period
App goes live in four US states after six-month beta testing with firm aiming to launch in 15 states by football season
Fanatics Betting and Gaming (FBG) has confirmed the full launch of the Fanatics Sportsbook in four US states; Maryland, Massachusetts, Ohio, and Tennessee, following a six-month testing period.
The new Fanatics app is available for download on iOS and Android devices. It includes moneyline bets, spread bets, over-unders, player props, live in-game betting markets, and same game parlay markets.
The app will also utilize the FanCash loyalty scheme, as well as withdrawal tracker software, and offer full integration with Fanatics wider sports merchandizing business.
In addition, Fanatics promotional arsenal will include the Sportsbook Discover page, which provides curated content, bets, rewards and promotions tailored to an individual’s sports preferences.

Fanatics chief product officer Scot McClintic welcomed the full sportsbook launch, affirming FBG’s focus on providing a good user experience for its customers, a central aspect of the decision to beta test before fully launching.
“We are laser focused on solving pain points facing customers by offering a faster, easier, and a more rewarding sports betting experience. The strategic patience to build a product for the long-term has given us an opportunity to redefine a customer’s expectation of what a sportsbook should be,” McClintic said.
“With the Fanatics Sportsbook product foundation built and wholly owned, customers should expect unparalleled speed of feature improvement, delivery, and innovation,” he added.
FBG has ambitious plans to launch in up to 15 US states by the start of the NFL season on September 7.
The firm is currently in the process of transferring several sports betting licenses in US states from PointsBet to FBG following its $225m acquisition of the operator’s US division in June.
Updating the market on its plans for PointsBet, FBG confirmed its ambition to “supercharge” its sports betting platform with the addition of PointsBet US and its Banach Technology subsidiary.
“The Fanatics Sportsbook will also leverage PointsBet’s quantitative driven trading models from Banach Technology in its new state-of-the-art risk and trading platform,” FBG said in a release.
“The Fanatics Sportsbook will offer legal sports betting markets on professional and college football, basketball, hockey and baseball, as well as golf, tennis, motorsports, boxing, MMA and much more.
“The development and trading of sports betting markets will be done in house at Fanatics Betting and Gaming,” the operator remarked.
One potentially lucrative market in which Fanatics is seeking to transfer an existing PointsBet license is New York, with the firm in active discussions with the New York State Gaming Commission over a transfer.
