DraftKings steps up RG efforts with new budget builder tool
Operator adds to RG toolkit, enabling users to manage their spend across all verticals via personalized budget that factors in play time and deposit size
DraftKings has launched its latest responsible gambling tool, My Budget Builder, which will allow users to set customized limits and reminders in a bid to help better manage their play.
The new product will also let players manage their budgets across sports betting, igaming, and daily fantasy sports (DFS).
Accessed via the DraftKings Responsible Gaming Center online or via the operator’s app, My Budget Builder guides players through various categories where a personalized budget can be set.
The budget will factor in everything from the user’s deposit size and number of total wagers to loss limits, total playing time, contest entries, and contest fees.
Once all choices have been made, players have the option to review their limits and determine how long they will enforce them for.
The Boston-based operator confirmed limits can be lowered at any time but not raised, with increases only permissible once the selected time period has lapsed.
Lori Kalani, DraftKings chief responsible gaming officer, said: “My Budget Builder is a new kind of responsible gaming tool – intuitive, proactive, and personalized.
“It reflects our ongoing commitment to creating fun, enjoyable environments for our players. By enhancing how players engage with limit-setting, we are providing another resource that players can use to help them play responsibly.”
The company noted the release of My Budget Builder marks the latest example of DraftKings’ commitment to responsible gaming, which centers around “accessibility, education, and innovation.”
The tool builds on the foundation provided by DraftKings’ My Stat Sheet, a product launched in 2024 that allows users to view a detailed assessment of all facets of their wagering activity.
Since launching, My Stat Sheet has registered over 20 million visits.
DraftKings official update read: “With the addition of My Budget Builder, DraftKings continues to lead the industry in developing meaningful, player-first responsible gaming tools that promote responsible play and informed decision making.”
The launch comes six weeks on from FanDuel rolling out a similar tool in its Real-Time Check-In product, which combines user data with machine learning to model personalized deposit behavior and help players manage their spending habits.
