DAZN enters prediction markets space via ADI Predictstreet partnership
Sports streaming giant targets US rollout for new product designed to bring “regulated prediction market experiences” to its audience
DAZN has entered a global strategic partnership with ADI Predictstreet to bring a prediction markets offering to its users, which the company said would be a “seamless second-screen experience”.
The deal will see DAZN make use of the prediction markets platform powered by Abu Dhabi-headquartered blockchain platform ADI Chain and distribute it to DAZN users in regulated markets across the globe.
ADI Chain will provide the infrastructure for the prediction markets offering, including secure digital settlement and stablecoin capabilities.
This will include the development and introduction of a DAZN-branded stablecoin for use on the platform.
The initial rollout of the product will be across the US, subject to receipt of the required licences and regulatory approvals, with an emphasis on bringing “regulated prediction market experiences” to DAZN users.
A DAZN statement read: “By combining DAZN’s scale, distribution and deep fan relationships with ADI Predictstreet’s regulated market infrastructure, the partnership aims to create a seamless second-screen experience that evolves alongside the live action.
“The ambition is to transform passive viewing into active participation and unlock new value for fans, rights holders, leagues, broadcasters and commercial partners.”
ADI Predictstreet was named as FIFA’s first ever official prediction market partner, and was subsequently the official prediction markets partner for the 2026 World Cup.
The company also became the first to be granted a provisional prediction markets licence in Gibraltar, with rival platform WagerWire following suit soon afterwards.
DAZN’s streaming platform is available in over 200 regulated markets worldwide, with its portfolio encompassing football, boxing, international NFL fixtures, NHL.TV and major global sporting events.
The business also runs DAZN Bet in several geographies, including the UK and Italy. The business has attempted to lean on the media convergence model to drive streaming subscribers to the sports betting offering.
The firm had entered into a partnership with Polymarket in January with a view to making an entry into the prediction markets space this year.
Shay Segev, DAZN Group CEO, said: “Prediction markets are becoming one of the most exciting and rapidly growing forms of digital fan engagement.
“This exclusive partnership combines ADI Predictstreet’s innovative regulated platform with DAZN’s global reach, premium rights and direct relationship with sports fans in more than 200 markets.
“Together, we have the opportunity to create an entirely new way for fans to participate in the sporting moments they care about most. The US will be a major focus, and we intend to launch there as soon as the required regulatory framework and licences are in place.”
Last month, ADI Predictstreet partnered with Matchbook to launch a World Cup-focused prediction markets offering in the UK.
ADI Predictstreet CEO Dimitrios Psarrakis added: “Prediction markets capture what fans truly believe, and there is no more powerful or immediate source of collective conviction than live sport.
“Our partnership with FIFA gives ADI Predictstreet a unique position at the heart of the world’s biggest sporting event. By partnering exclusively with DAZN, we can now combine that position with the reach and engagement of the world’s leading global sports platform.
“Our shared ambition is clear: to build the leading regulated sports prediction market experience globally, with the United States at the centre of our long-term strategy.”
In June, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) released a series of proposed regulations for US-based prediction markets.
These included a ban on casino-style event contracts, in addition to restrictions on markets “contrary to public interest” such as player injuries, refereeing decisions, precollegiate sports and micro-betting markets.
